Tales Continue 0.2.0 Colorado road trip

This was my first outing out of El Paso since I have arrived and I thank my roommates for planning out the trip on the long memorial day weekend. Going by road had its own ups and downs but the ned of the day we returned back just in time, safe, satisfied and in one peice.... so what more do you need....

Lets start from the first day. We left on friday evening. There were 5 of us, Gaurav( apna kgp vala), Sunil (My room mate) and Amol and Uphar ( Sunil's friends). We rented a car and it was a caravan. Masto car... had automatic closing doors, power points for every seat , large and spcious. While the plan was to leave around 5:00 pm but we are Indians by birth and will continue to do so. So we started at 7:30 after loading the caravan with an ice box full of coke, water, chips and yes a Laptop. Well this was new to me. Never before I had travelled with a computer by my side. Aneways we started and soon different people were enjoying differently, peeche vaale started watching a movie, I was enjoying my role as a DJ and Sunil was enjoying the drive. Finally after 8 hrs of continuous drive we reached pubolo and stayed there for a night

The next day we were up early as we had an tight schedule. The first place we went to was abt 1.5 hr drive from pubolo, the Rolyal George Bridge in Canon City. It is the highest bridge in the world and is built over a canyon. It was a amzing site looking down the bridge. The place also had some amazing rides but due to the lack of time and the adventure of the next planned activity we didn't even tried to have one of those. We just rushed to our next destination. The next destination was white water rafting. :D. We reached the place, wore our gear and then were escorted to the river, During the way our guide told us about various things that might happen during the raft and how can we save ourselves. But I was charged with Adreline. No fears and never had a thought that any thing bad would happen. The river side was beautiful. There were mountain on two sides and the stream between them. It was a kind of valley. But the scene was awesome. The weather was with ous. There was no sun, just the clouds above and the cold chilling water below. The raft ride was again nedless to say amazing with some awesome pictures. We emerged from the water, thrilled and satisfied. These 2hrs were the most amazing ones till now. Back to the rafting place we changed and headed back to our new destination, The Seven Falls, Colorado Springs. It was an hour drive from canon city. The place Colorado Springs was awesome. The houses, the sorroundings, the weather all awesome. Finally we reached The seven Falls. This is a water fall which has seven different falls and during the evening time there is computerized lighting giving seven different colours to the waterfall.... Ya again awesome.... had a nice evening there took lots and lots of pictures.... and then finally winded up the day. But who knew that we still had things in store for us. Our plan for the night was to head to Denver. So we were enjoying a pleasent drive, satisfied as we had done lots and lots today and just hoping to reach Denver as soon as possible.

One thing I like about this place is that you can go anywhere easily with the help of google maps. Just type in the destination and the starting point and then its google who will take u there. But I don't what happened we realized that we were in the wrong direction. We had to go towards Denver but the sign boards were saying something else. When we realized this, we had already come about 68 miles from Denver and now had to head back. Ufffff!!!!!!!! our tired souls decided to drive back ince there was no othre option. Well I consoled everybody saying that a trip cannot be perfect, so something had to go wrong. Its good that nothnig bad happened. Everybody smiling was now ready to go. During the journey back I was sitting in the passenger seat besides the driver and Amol was sitting behind happy, as he had had a couple of beers. Every thing was going fine. Suddenly a car came from behind , towrds my side and Ran into our car. BUMP!!!!! was all I remembered. But nothing much happened. We all were safe and so was the other car. The driver came to us asking whether we all were right and all of us, thake haare, were confused as to what was going on. She said lets not stand here because it was a highway and we should stop at he next highway. But something struck me. I asked Uphar to note down her car number in case.... but where the damm pen!!!! "write on mobile... jaldi jaldi...... was what I suggested it. Now as expected the girl escaped and didn't know what to do. We stopped at some place. Now we had two options... either to call the cops and report the accident or not. We should de so becuase the car was on rent, although it was covered under insurance but still its US and you got to do whats right. But on the other hand Amol had his name on the drivers list for the car along With Sunil so if we call the cops there was a chance that they would say that Amol was driving and since he was a bit drunk, he caused the accident. In that case all of us would be screwed.... now what to do.... sabki phati hui thi.... none of us wanted to get into the jhamela with the cops as this was US and not India..... ab kya karen.... finally after a 30 min long dicussion we arrived at the conclusion that we will not call the cops and continue with the journey.

All of us were wondering that how the situation tured around. Saala subah itne mazze kiye aur ab sab ulta phulta ho raha hain.... and jab bhi kisi police vaale ki gaadi baju se nikalti thi lgta tha yeh humare liye hi aa raha hain.... sabki phati hui thi...... so we decided to stop where we were as it was enough for one day.

The next day we had plans to wake up at 5:00 am but the toll we had taken last night was against it. We woke up at 10:30 knowing that theres nothing much that we can do today.... so decided to make the most of it..... called up friends in El paso to search for an indian resturant here in Denver, and so the it was afternoon that i had the best lunch after coming ti US... an Indian Buffet... wow!!!!!! stilll smells yummy. aneways after the luch we decided to watch the movie Fanaa but the show was not till 7:00pm.... thus went to Dave and Busters..... its a place where there video games and stuff.... ek dum masto jagah hain.... finally after having a really good time at this place we headed to the movie...... chand sifarish jo karta humari...... :D, the movie...... the first half was nice and the second half sucked. Don't watch it as a moive , but go for it if u r a Kajol fan because she's looking tooooooooo cute and sexy in the movie..... and ya the song are nice...... and yes we also had samosa during the movie instead of popcorn.... and with that our Indian day came to an end.

Finally the last day we had to go futher north, abt an hour's drive to the rocky Mountain natinal park. This place was heaven on Earth. I really don't have the words to describe it.... see it ur self in th pictures.... loved it... and have decided to come here for my honeymoon..... and then at 7:00 pm in the evening yesterday we started our drive back home which is a 12hr drive if we don't stop and I and Gaurav had to be at work at 9:00 so the deadlines were tight.... aneways we made to home at 8:15 and i came to work an hr late today at 10.... wowwhat an weekend.

some stats:
travelled abt 3200 km in 3.5 days in car
took about 450 pictures
the minimum temparature we experienced was 37 F.... ya F not C :) and that too in summer clothes....
the fun Unlimited!!!!!

Tales continue.... 0.1.0

hmmm after the strong objection by the readers on the last post I will try to restrain myself from writing the 'those' things.... hey but wait.... this is my blog... my space... I can do whatever I want.... I will not change for the whim and fancies of some indivisuals....

Now lets begin..... one thing I don't like is that people on Orkut have changed their names to "firstname" in US "Last name" or "firstname" in "company name" "Last name"..... what the fuck is this....common guys grow up..... 1/10 of the world is in US..... and being in US for internships is not that big achievement........doesn't requires advertisement of this scale... we all know this..... and one thing that struck me the most was.... name says ... "so an so" in US "so an so"... and the first line in the about me coloumn says... I am modest.... down to earth person..... now this is the height.....

Secondaly, after coming here I feel my mom has become more possessieve about me....every time I call she seems to be worried... I don't know whether this is the same for all the guys but I don't like it... But the I can't tell my mom to chill out.... she will become more worried.... aneways I have the feeling I should behave as normal as possible to avoid any panic at home...

Anoher thing, my roommates are damm good!!!! they give me their laptop..... prepare the food, and treat as just another kid living with them.... and I really like this.... today in the evening I was feeling a bit bored and had a headache..... so went to Kumar( he is the person with whom I have been in touch before coming here) and had a beer... sar dard gayab.... he he .... vaise mentioning abt he room mates I will mention that Gaurav is not an South Indan as I had said in the last post and had promised him to mention specially in the next post..... and Kumar... rocking guy man... U can never be bored with him..... and Sunil...... nice, calm, quiet and a very helpful guy....

about the work.... just started it... vaise I have a clear understanding as to what is to be done.... and is to be done In C for the time being..... so no jitters for now... vaise I have managed to impress my guide daily in these 2 days.... dekho aage kya hota hain.....

and about Kgp... seems a surprise to me that I will be getting a 9.0+ this time.... pata nahin kaise... time to mila nahin tha padne ka.... aneways... its nice

and finally I will be going for a party at my prof's home tomorrow.... Kumar whom I mentioned before is graduating and theres a celebration for the same... chalo dekho kya hota hain in americans ki party main... tata for now!!!!!

El Paso tales!!!!

Yes from here I start with my stories from El Paso. Lets start from delhi airport. But let me warn you guys.... all the posts from here will contain refferences to girls... so acche log pehle hi katlo!!!Hmmm.. to delhi airport pe masto bandi baithi thi british airways ke counter pe.... and arpit baar baar bol raha tha... abe dekh dekh... sab kuchh dikh raha hain... while she was bending down do look up the details in the computer.... and I was trring to be normal... as she was trying to give an asile seat... but in the whole confusion and anxiety I left my ticket there... and I realized this while I was on the plane flying somewhere over afghanistan..... and when I realized this... virtually fhat gayi yaar... but aneways nothing could have been done now and Arpit consoled me... so went to sleep on those damm cramped up seats in the plane...

Now london Heathrow was a delight to the eyes... really lag raha tha ki kahin foreignva land main aa gaye hain... but meri to fhai hui thi ticket ko lekar.... finally went to the british airways counter and got all the boarding pass... and the guy assured me that I will get my tickets in chicgao.... aneways then chilled out on the airport...

Then took a flight from London to chicago... ya I know sunne main bahut accha lagta hain...london... Chicago.... but tha bhi bahut accha... aneways the point is that none of the airhosttess till now were great and I felt cheated, because Kingfisher airlines back home have better ones.... aneways British Airways had LCD screens for every seat and I watched garam masala on the way from Delhi to London and friends , Joey from London to Chicago..... also the point to be noted is that I had never ever traveled before in a plane so my exitement had no bounds.....

Then El Paso... the Univ here is based on some bhutanian arhitecture... and is really nice... damm good I should say and the best part is that the Latino girls here SimplY Rock.....and with the Texas summers round the corner the fun is going to get multifold... because as it gets hot the clothes will get shorter... he he...

Well on the first day I met my guide... He is a nice person... told me what I was required to do... although I didn't understand much of it..... but still seems the summer will be fruitfull.... he showed me my working place..... wow... masto lab... theres a key pad lock to open it its hi tech... I have 21" LCD screen to work on and the net...damm fast.... but the first day was wasted in confusion as the officials had never dealt with anyone who came just for 10 weeks... lets see what happens tomorrow

I am staying with some indian guys here... they are nice people... all south indians... but are really helpfull... testerday I went to a place called subway and the food there rocked... also went to wal mart... nice place.... and the goods are really cheap... the elecronic goods.... the watches... really cheap... had to restrain myself... waiting for the day I will get paid.... also saw IPod nano in material form and my love for it increased.... Damm!!!! when will I get my first pay...

Finally went to the library today...:D... haan haan padne hi gaya tha... :D :D ... people here have exams from tomorrow...so just went in to check the junta... and the library was really COOL.... sit where you want.. as you want... o what you want.. you cn carry you bags.. laptops.... ipods and every thing you want... and the place was really cool..... the bandis... damm hot man.... the place where I was sitting or lying down had a vaccant sofa in front and after a some time a blonde came.... and slept there on the sofa... she was wearing skirts... he he... bas aur nahin bataunga... had real masti tonight... then the walk from the school to the apartment was also nice.... reminded me of KGP.... chlo me going to call home... tata for now bbye!!!!

looking back!!!!

finally after the struggle of one whole semester I somehow managed to reach El Paso. But I feel that first I should write about my previous semester. The last semester was the most versatile one. never did I travel 15000 km in one semester... bunking classes, never did I took so much responsibility for the department and never was I so mean.

Coming to the first point first i went to bombay for the tech fest.. nice experience but no result... but got to meet some of my old friends and that was really nice... then during mid march I went back to home... wow bahut mazza aaya tha us trip main.. basically had gone to vaishno devi... masto trip tha ek dum... usse hi kehte hain mata ka saccha bulava... aneways the third trip was for home again for my cousins wedding... and everyone knows punjabi weddings rock man... the food.. the whole family together... dancing .... and ofcourse the bandiyaan... was rocking..also it was the first time that I travelled by rajdhani.. one thing I learned from these trips is that if wanna take out time and have the guts to bunk some classes you can go home a lot... so from the next semster one extra trip to home is assured.

then the department stuff.... ufff getting work done is really a dounting task... first the dept. tshirt... saala logo ko kitne mail karo but no one turns up in time to collect his tshirts.... but the tshirts really turned up well and there was apriciation all around... even the people from other dept. turned up for the tshirts. Then the dept. farewell... that too turned up well firstly becuz of the presentation from the 4th year batch and also becuz of the idea of the group photograph... nice idea shaunak... chalo started something that will be there for long I hope... aneways me, piyush and tinni brainstromed what could be done more with the dept. society and came with nice ideas and even if half of them materialize , it will be a revolution... but not to mention that I would be needing a lot of support from my batch... hope for the same.

last one is the really sad part... I was soo mean sometimes... had my priorities wrong most of the times.... and in the process hurting others, making them unhappy, aand depriving them of what they deserved so much.... yes I am talking of my seniors... I am sorry man.... I was really wrong....... but will make sure that this doesnot repeat with the next batch.... time to nikalne se nikal hi jata hain... faltu main tum logo ko itna pareshan kiya..... but learned a lot from u guys, will appriciate those mails for a long time, har 15 days main 1 baar tu vo mail pad hi lenege jisse ki we remain on the right track... wishing all of u best of luck... keep in touch guys.... will miss ou a lot!!!!
Now at this time of my life I find myself at very different crossroads... I am still a kid for my parents.. every time I call home i am treated or rather pampered as small kid whose every desire should be fulfilled, next I find my self responsible ofr the dept. society as I feel that a lot things can be changed for the good and these changes can be really revolutionary and for that I have to play a binding role for the whole batch as without their support any thing wouldn't be possible, next I feel a sense of responsibility for the bacchas coming to the wing and feel that the last year shouldn't be reapeated, finally the wing... I feel every one has to be taken together and aslo the most important thing... acads got to manage them also... although I feel that I did quite well this time and also the hall, it went neglected this time but as I promised it will be different from the next time.... so many different roles to play and me single being.... got to do a lots and lots next sem!!!!
chalo me tired of writing will describe El Paso in the next post... got to go... vaise I am fine here having fun with the indian guys who live here... am going to live with one of them for the next 2.5 month... chalo tata for now!
